Job Overview
As a Barista / Customer Service Associate, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee beverages, serving customers efficiently, and ensuring the café operates smoothly throughout the day. You will represent the brand by delivering excellent hospitality and maintaining the high service standards expected from the Marks & Spencer café experience.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with customers and working in a dynamic café and retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and specialty drinks
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure a welcoming café atmosphere
• Take customer orders accurately and operate the POS system for payments
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area and coffee machines
• Replenish food and beverage displays and ensure products are fresh and well presented
• Assist customers with menu recommendations and product information
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times
• Support the retail team in maintaining store presentation and merchandising
• Work efficiently during busy periods to ensure fast and friendly service
• Handle customer feedback professionally and ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements
Candidates applying for this role should have:
• Previous barista or café experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Friendly personality with a positive attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail café environment
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and food safety standards
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
Experience in coffee shops, cafés, or hospitality outlets will be considered an advantage.
