Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to carry out efficient vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer-approved repair techniques and safety standards. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality workmanship, accurate fault diagnosis, and excellent customer satisfaction while maintaining productivity and compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Repair & Maintenance
- Perform effective and efficient repair, servicing, and maintenance of customer vehicles as per manufacturer specifications.
- Collect job orders, tools, equipment, and spare parts required to execute assigned repair tasks accurately.
- Diagnose vehicle faults correctly and complete repairs within allocated timeframes.
- Inform the Team Leader or Supervisor of any delays due to parts unavailability or technical constraints.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Ensure all additional repair work is properly authorized and parts are correctly booked against the repair order.
- For warranty repairs or parts exchange programs, return removed parts to the Parts Department following audit procedures.
- For retail jobs, retain replaced parts in the vehicle as per company policy (excluding batteries or items that may damage vehicle interiors).
- Maintain accurate job card entries, repair notes, and system clock-in/clock-out records as per standard procedures.
Workshop Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness of personal tools, work bays, lifts, and workshop areas at all times.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations mandated by the company and local authorities.
- Dispose of used parts in an environmentally responsible manner and return unused parts as per company guidelines.
Productivity & Performance
- Maintain efficiency and productivity levels above 100% as per workshop KPIs.
- Work additional hours when required to complete urgent jobs and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Training & Skill Development
- Continuously upgrade technical knowledge through web-based courses and classroom training programs.
- Attend manufacturer-approved technical training sessions to stay updated with new technologies and repair methods.
Tool & Equipment Management
- Ensure safekeeping of personal tools and equipment.
- Report any tool damage, breakage, or workplace accidents immediately to the Team Leader or Tool Room for corrective action.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Diploma in Automotive Engineering, OR
- Industrial Technical Institute (ITI) – 2-year Vocational Auto Technician Course (Certified)
Experience Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician for Diploma holders
- 3–5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician for ITI certified candidates
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures
- ITI Certified Auto Technician or Vocational Automobile Training background
- Basic electrical and electronic system knowledge in addition to mechanical expertise
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience attending manufacturer-based technical training programs
- Ability to work under pressure and meet productivity targets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
