As part of the Beverage Operations team, the Barback plays a crucial behind-the-scenes role in ensuring smooth and efficient bar service.
Role Overview – Barback
The Barback supports the bar team by ensuring bartenders have everything they need to deliver fast, high-quality service. From restocking ingredients and polishing glassware to maintaining cleanliness and assisting during peak hours, this role is essential to keeping bar operations running smoothly.
You will report directly to the Head Mixologist or Bar Manager (AGM) and work closely with the beverage team.
This is a full-time position based in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
Bar Support & Preparation
- Restock bar stations with spirits, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware
- Ensure the bar is fully prepared before service begins
- Assist bartenders during busy periods to maintain speed and efficiency
- Organize back bar and preparation areas for smooth workflow
Your support helps bartenders focus on crafting drinks and delivering excellent guest service.
Cleanliness & Organisation
- Maintain cleanliness of bar stations, storage rooms, and back bar areas
- Wash, polish, and restock glassware as needed
- Manage waste disposal and recycling according to company standards
- Keep work areas safe, tidy, and organized throughout shifts
Cleanliness and attention to detail are critical in maintaining professional beverage service standards.
Stock & Deliveries
- Assist in receiving and storing bar deliveries
- Support stock rotation and ensure products are properly labeled
- Participate in stock counts and inventory checks
- Report shortages, damages, or supply issues to senior bar staff
Proper stock management ensures uninterrupted service and reduces waste.
Standards & Discipline
- Follow hygiene, safety, and beverage service procedures
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards
- Support opening and closing bar duties
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and teamwork
