About Café Java – Novotel Dubai Al Barsha
Café Java at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha offers guests a warm, modern café experience featuring premium coffee, specialty beverages, and light bites. The café is a social hub for hotel guests and local visitors, delivering quality, comfort, and friendly service in a contemporary setting.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare and serve a wide range of espresso-based drinks, drip coffee, and specialty beverages to Accor standards
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all beverages served
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment
Customer Experience
- Greet guests warmly and take orders accurately using the POS system
- Recommend coffee blends, specialty drinks, and café menu items to enhance guest experience
- Upsell products while maintaining a friendly and professional service style
Operations & Cash Handling
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Maintain sales records and ensure correct billing
- Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and replenishment of café supplies
Hygiene, Safety & Teamwork
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Stay informed on coffee trends and continuously improve product knowledge
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Barista preferred (hotel or café experience is an advantage)
- Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing techniques, and café operations
- Ability to operate espresso machines and café equipment confidently
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Food Handling / Hygiene Certification preferred
- Physically fit to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays
- Fluency in English (Arabic or additional languages are an advantage)
