Cashier Job Overview
As a Cashier, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe custody of company assets and accurately processing all financial transactions. This role is critical in maintaining financial integrity, daily cash reconciliation, and customer satisfaction.
The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to follow proper financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions & Payments
- Receive and process payments from customers for new vehicles, trade-ins, service, and maintenance work
- Process payments using cash, credit cards, checks, and petty cash
- Verify the accuracy of invoices before processing payments
- Ensure all payments are properly recorded and accounted for
- Process refunds or adjustments when necessary
Accuracy and transparency are essential in handling customer transactions.
Cash Handling & Security
- Ensure safe custody of company assets, including vehicle clearance certificates (VCC)
- Release gate passes for vehicles after full account clearance
- Maintain a secure cash drawer at all times
- Verify the authenticity of currency (coins and bills)
- Follow proper cash handling procedures to prevent discrepancies
Maintaining security and accountability is a core responsibility of this role.
Record Keeping & Reconciliation
- Maintain accurate daily financial records
- Keep track of daily cash balances
- Reconcile cash and credit card transactions at the end of each day
- Prepare and submit petty cash reports for reimbursement
- Ensure all records are organized, confidential, and up to date
Daily reconciliation ensures smooth financial operations and audit compliance.
Coordination & Support
- Support the Finance Officer in coordinating with banks and insurance companies
- Provide required financial information to the back-office team
- Answer customer inquiries regarding pricing, services, and payment processes
- Ensure smooth communication between departments

Qualifications & Requirements
