Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Restaurant Cashier to join our team. The Cashier plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service, accurately handling transactions, and coordinating orders to ensure smooth restaurant operations. This role involves managing cash and digital payments, processing in-store and online orders, and communicating effectively with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and create a friendly, welcoming dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
- Process payments using cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payment methods
- Issue receipts and provide correct change when required
- Maintain a clean, organized cash register and front counter area
- Reconcile daily transactions and assist with cash balancing procedures
- Monitor and manage online orders through the aggregator system
- Check tablet connectivity and order performance on aggregator platforms
- Apply discounts, promotions, and special offers accurately
- Update item availability and digital inventory in real time
- Communicate orders clearly to kitchen staff and prioritize based on urgency
- Handle phone calls and customer inquiries regarding menu items and pricing
- Upsell menu items, add-ons, and promotions to maximize sales
- Address customer complaints or special requests professionally
- Maintain strong knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and allergen information
- Follow cash handling, safety, hygiene, and security procedures
- Assist with front-of-house duties such as seating guests and maintaining cleanliness
- Stay updated on restaurant policies, promotions, and events
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience as a Cashier, Restaurant Crew, or Customer Service Associate is an advantage
- Strong numerical and cash-handling skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using POS systems and basic computer skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift trays or supplies when needed
