Role Purpose
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of Rovers and Rovesters while they enjoy the hotel’s swimming pool facilities. Beyond safety, this role contributes to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences by creating a safe, clean, and welcoming pool environment in line with Rove Hotels’ brand standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure Guest Safety at All Times
- Continuously monitor swimming pool activities to prevent accidents.
- Enforce all hotel pool rules and safety regulations.
- Assist guests in the safe use of pool facilities and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of the pool and surrounding areas.
- Perform routine safety checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
2. Emergency Response & First Aid
- Respond quickly and confidently to emergencies.
- Rescue distressed swimmers when necessary.
- Provide First Aid, CPR, and life-saving techniques as required.
- Communicate clearly with management and relevant departments during emergencies.
- Be fully knowledgeable about all hotel emergency procedures.
3. Pool Maintenance & Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas.
- Ensure safety signage is visible and properly placed.
- Report maintenance issues immediately.
- Ensure security and safety measures are strictly followed.
4. Deliver Exceptional Guest Service
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to guests.
- Address concerns or complaints related to the pool area.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with guests and hotel staff.
- Maintain a positive and professional image that reflects Rove Hotel standards.
- Treat all Rovesters with respect, integrity, and teamwork spirit.
5. Continuous Learning & Professional Development
- Attend mandatory trainings and certifications.
- Keep lifeguarding skills updated.
- Participate in meetings and departmental briefings.
- Take on additional duties related to the role when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following:
Minimum Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent (College degree preferred).
- Valid Lifeguard Certification or license.
- First Aid and CPR certification (highly advantageous).
- Strong swimming ability is essential.
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Quick decision-making ability under pressure.
