Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Retail Cashier / Sales Associate to support daily store operations and deliver an excellent customer experience. The role is responsible for accurate cash handling, POS operations, pricing accuracy, and assisting customers while supporting sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Cashiering & POS Operations
- Ensure product prices are updated and accurate within the system
- Count cash at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure correct balances and adequate change
- Ensure proper currency denominations and verify rates where applicable
- Conduct security checks on cash, credit cards, cheques, and other payment methods
- Follow till close-down procedures at the end of trading
- Take full responsibility for the security of the assigned till, cash, and valuables
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Provide accurate pricing and product information to customers
- Remove security tags from purchased items
- Inform customers about gift vouchers, promotions, and ongoing store offers
- Deliver courteous, efficient, and friendly customer service at all times
- Support the showroom team in maximizing sales opportunities
Store Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, cash handling procedures, and loss prevention standards
- Support overall store efficiency by maintaining organized cashier areas
- Follow standard operating procedures related to security and inventory control
Self-Management & Development
- Set and achieve individual performance goals in coordination with the reporting manager
- Take ownership of personal learning and professional development
- Identify skill gaps and participate in development plans beyond formal training
- Stay updated with new retail techniques, systems, and industry best practices
Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications
- High School Certificate or Diploma
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a cashier, retail sales, or customer service role
