Job Overview
AL ABBAR ENTERPRISES is seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our retail confectionery team. The ideal candidate will support daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and ensure a welcoming shopping experience while maintaining high standards of product display and hygiene.
This role is perfect for individuals passionate about retail, sweets, chocolates, and premium confectionery products.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service at all times
- Assist customers in selecting confectionery items, chocolates, and gift packs
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the shop floor
- Refill shelves and ensure attractive product displays
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or damages
- Follow company standards for food safety and hygiene
- Support promotional activities and seasonal product launches
- Resolve basic customer inquiries and complaints professionally
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Shop Assistant, Retail Sales Associate, or Store Helper is an advantage
- Experience in confectionery, bakery, chocolate, or FMCG retail preferred
- Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Friendly personality with a customer-service mindset
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Physically fit to stand for long hours
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
