Job Responsibilities
As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a vital role in maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and operational efficiency within the kitchen and food & beverage outlets.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, and storage areas
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Dispose of waste properly and assist with recycling and waste management procedures
- Support kitchen teams with basic food preparation tasks when required
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries
- Ensure cleaning chemicals and materials are used safely and stored correctly
- Report equipment malfunctions, damages, or maintenance issues promptly
- Work closely with chefs and service teams to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow duty rosters, shift schedules, and operational guidelines
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward / Dishwasher / Stewarding Attendant is an advantage
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel or restaurant environment
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and detail
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation practices
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays
