Job Overview

As a Wok Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Asian-inspired dishes using wok techniques. This role requires speed, precision, and a strong understanding of flavors, sauces, and cooking methods.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment where consistency and timing are critical. The ideal candidate should be confident in handling high heat cooking, managing multiple orders, and delivering dishes that meet the restaurant’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes using wok techniques such as stir-frying, sautéing, and deep-frying
• Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation
• Manage your section during busy service hours
• Prepare ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, and marinades
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
• Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control
• Follow all food safety and HACCP guidelines
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Wok Chef or Asian Cuisine Chef
• Strong knowledge of Asian cooking techniques and flavors
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
• Good time management and multitasking skills
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Basic English communication skills

Candidates with experience in Chinese, Thai, or Pan-Asian cuisine will have an advantage.
