These picker sites form the backbone of Deliveroo’s grocery operations, combining technology, operational excellence, and strong partnerships. The ODG team plays a critical role in maintaining performance standards and continuously improving customer experience.
Job Title: Operations Associate – Grocery & Retail Operations
The Operations Associate is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for ensuring operational excellence across multiple grocery and retail partner sites. You will work directly on-site with pickers, store teams, and central operations to improve performance, accuracy, and service quality.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Monitoring & Store Audits
- Regularly visit assigned grocery and retail partner sites
- Monitor key operational metrics such as B10s, missing items, rejections, substitutions, and order cancellations
- Identify gaps affecting order accuracy, speed, and customer satisfaction
Root Cause Analysis
- Investigate recurring operational issues
- Identify root causes related to processes, training, or stock availability
- Implement corrective actions to prevent repeat issues
On-Site Training & Picker Support
- Train and coach pickers on Deliveroo’s standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Improve picker performance in areas such as order prioritization, substitutions, and picking accuracy
- Promote a customer-first mindset during daily operations
Action Plan Development
- Create site-specific improvement plans based on performance data
- Define clear actions, timelines, and expected outcomes
- Coordinate with internal teams and partner management to execute plans
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of site visits, findings, and corrective actions
- Prepare reports and performance feedback for central operations teams
- Track progress against agreed KPIs
Hardware & Technology Support
- Conduct regular checks on store tablets, printers, SIM cards, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues or escalate to support teams when required
- Ensure all systems are functioning smoothly during live operations
Collaboration with Store Teams
- Work closely with store managers and staff to ensure item accuracy and stock availability
- Support efficient order preparation and picker workflows
- Build strong working relationships with partner teams
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in grocery, retail, logistics, or delivery operations
- Experience in dark stores, supermarkets, or last-mile delivery is an advantage
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and operational discipline
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Technical Skills
- Comfortable using mobile and tablet applications
- Basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
Transport & Mobility
- Valid UAE driving license (mandatory)
- Own car required for site visits
- Willingness to travel between multiple store locations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain on-site for extended periods
- Comfortable working in active retail or warehouse-style environments

Estimated Salary Range:
AED 4,000 – AED 6,000 per month (depending on experience and location)
