The food and beverage group, which is under Deal Holdings, is one of the premium service providers in the United Arab Emirates. The FAB group is a luxury fine-dining restaurant, speciality cafes, and artisanal bakery concepts that run across the UAE. It’s a fast-growing hospitality company that operates in Dubai. Under the deal, the holdings company and the food and beverage group were relaunched in 2025 with GCC innovative restaurant concepts.

The FAB Group combines Middle Eastern hospitality and lifestyle culture, along with global culinary arts, which brings mesmerising dining experiences to the guests. FAB Group has a main central kitchen which is located in Abu Dhabi, with the service of sweet & confectionery and bakery production services, & in Dubai, Vida Hotel and Emirates Hills have premium dining restaurants. The FAB Group has a great vision to build more innovative restaurants within the next 2 years, covering all the GCC countries to be served. Michelin-star dining restaurants, artisanal bakeries, and speciality concept cafes are being built on building projects, and Colin Claguey is collaborating to bring the international-standard culinary experience, aligning with the Arabic food culture.

This position is waiting to be filled for the Emirates Hills location. This is Dubai, one of the most iconic, prestigious-level residential areas located in Dubai. Most luxury villas and a premium-level community have taken this place.

Inside the bar back position responsibilities

A bar back is the backbone of the bar. Major duty responsibilities are to assist the bartenders and follow the instructions of the head barman by organising the bar to be clean and tidy, arranging liquor bottles, spirits, wine, beer, and beverages, restocking, refilling, and keeping it clean all day long. Barback is the beginner-level position before serving at the bar in front of guests. This is a great opportunity for those who have a hunger to learn about spirits and liquor, enjoy serving, and have experience in an international-standard restaurant to gain experience. This job role requires good health, stamina, the ability to stand for long hours, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Day-to-day role requirements

  • Refilling stock levels: a great barback always knows about the par levels and quantities. The barback has to make sure that bartenders have enough spirits, liquor bottles, wine, margaritas, cocktail glasses, syrups, garnish, ice cubes, etc.
  • Preparation: cut fruits for garnishes; refill the barback with stocks of beverage items; prepare juices, smoothies, and coffee or tea if required; regularly monitor the levels of drinks, H₂O, juices, beer, and mixers.
  • Collect all the used glassware, saucers, and teaspoons and wash them through the glass washer; wipe them thoroughly without any stains and stack them in the bar. Always make sure all the equipment of the bar is well sanitised and clean.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with the bar staff as a team to ensure running a smooth operation without any interruptions.
  • Inventory: Every 3 hours, double-check the stock levels of beverage requirements, liquors, and other needs and request from the storekeeper by filling out the request paper. Don’t let it wait until you realise it’s run out; it will affect the operations, especially during rush hours.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the bar back always clean, wipe the table and bar counters, wash the cutting boards after use, sanitise the utensils, remove waste, and check the expiry dates of the products consistently.
  • Organise: switch empty beer kegs, empty liquor bottles, containers, and other beverage requirements; consistently check and restock.
  • Wastage: Minimise the wastage of beverages, fruits, and liquor; take out empty bottles, cartons, bottle cases, and packing papers; and remove the trash bins to keep the bar area well organised.
  • Receiving: Assist the storekeeper to receive the bar request by checking quantity, receiving deliveries, and organising the storeroom if help is required.
  • Safety: Always follow the safety rules and hygiene standards to make the workplace according to hospitality standards.

Candidate Expectations

  • Basic knowledge of liquors, mocktails, cocktails, wines, spirits, and bar operations.
  • 1 year of barback experience in a hotel or restaurant, and this vacancy is open to fresh candidates who also have passion and hunger.
  • High school education or relevant training certificates.
  • Physically able to lift 15 kg, stand for long hours, bend, and lift weights. Stamina has to be strong to run this job.
  • Attend to details and have a positive attitude towards work.
  • Good command of English, verbal and written. Speaking French, Russian, or Arabic is a plus.
  • Excellent team spirit and capability to work under high-volume pressure
  • Ability to work night shifts and split shifts. Work schedule flexibility matters.

Day routine of a barback at the food and beverage group

This is a simple job frame introduction to get an idea about how the barback position runs on a day-to-day basis. beginning of the shift, ensure stock availability and levels, and immediately refill and restock the beverage requirements. Check what’s needed behind the bar – it could be ingredients for the garnishes, cutting fruits for the fresh juices, utensil requirements, liquor bottles, or juice boxes. As soon as you prepare those, you will remove the empty kegs and empty bottles and dispose of them in a safe manner and clean the surfaces and sanitise before you start the operation. After the service staff picks up the glassware, stay alert to rewash it, wipe it thoroughly, stack it in the bar, and keep an eye on what the bartenders are running out of and help them to refill. You will help the bartenders to reduce the pressure level by assisting them whenever help is required. Especially when there’s a large group of guests visiting, your role is vital to keep smooth bar operations and provide great service by helping at the barback and front. As your service is about to end, recheck the stock level, inform the next shift in charge, and clean the area before handover to the bar. This is a rotating rhythm cycle that the operation keeps running, and barback support is a vital part.
