Barista Junior – Sugar Moo

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee-based beverages, kombucha, smoothies, detox juices, cold presses, and matcha drinks, including hojicha and sencha.
• Work in good order; Maintain and operate coffee machines and equipment efficiently and safely.
• Restock milks, ingredients, coffee beans, fruits, cups, and other items throughout the day.
• Engage with customers with strong knowledge of coffee and beverages, and provide friendly, fast customer service.
• Maintain consistency in beverage presentation, quality, taste, and hygiene.
• Ensure the preparation area, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized, and perform routine maintenance.
• Contribute to a positive workflow by helping each other as a team to provide excellent customer service.
• Take ownership of the coffee station, opening and closing setups, cleaning, and temperature monitoring.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a barista or similar role in a coffee shop setting is preferred.
• Food Handler Certification.
• Passion for coffee, delivering exceptional customer service, and continuous learning.
• Positive, energetic, and friendly personality that suits our customer-facing, fast-paced environments.
• In-depth knowledge of grinding, calibrating, brewing, pulling espresso, and latte art.
• Operating and maintaining machines and POS systems, and basic math skills for handling cash and card payments.
• Highly attentive to detail, hygiene, and cleanliness while providing great customer service.
• Proficient in English, verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
• Inventory Management, following café standards, and waste control.
• Willingness to work on weekends and UAE public holidays.
