Your job as a florist

As a florist, your job is not limited to arranging flowers. This is a work of art. Creativity, passion, and hunger to learn will keep you in the rhythm. This job specifically needs a friendly customer serviceattitude, and attention to detail as well.

• Fresh flower boutiques, boxes arranged. One of your major duties is to prepare fresh flowers according to customers’ online orders or for events. Based on the theme,m your duty is to create flower decorations for weddings, parties, birthdays, or corporate events.
• Keep the flowers fresh. You will be in charge of keeping the flowers fresh in the stock at all times. Spray, change the water regularly, trim leaves and stems, and control the cooler temperature without damaging the flowers or plants. This is vital because the flowers must remain fresh until they are displayed.
• Manage inventory and stock receiving. For day-to-day tasks, you will receive flowers from our suppliers, and checking the quality and quantity belongs to this duty. Stack them carefully in a cool temperature and organize the room as well.
• Customer service and assisting. Urban Roses gets orders daily through online orders and calls. Communicate clearly about delivery locations, price changes, and customers’ special requests. Help and suggestions for customers on flower selection and recommendations based on the type of event. Acknowledge them with flower and plant care tips to keep them fresh longer, and make sure customer service is polite and friendly.
• Cash handling and pos knowledge. Receive payments through card or cash, and keep accurate invoices and track records updated for end-of-day closing sales.
• Merchandising and displaying flowers in the floral shop. Arrange frames, gift boxes, and craft flower designs, and ensure the shop’s atmosphere remains attractive.
• Assist in delivery. Coordinate with drivers and assist them in delivering to the event. Make sure the package and flowers are carefully handled and arranged at the event. Help with onsite customer requests for floral setups as well.
• Especially for large events, you must work with minimal supervision. This job has high-volume pressure, especially for events. Special event setups and the installation of flower decorations before the deadline, and handling situations in a calm, positive manner with accuracy and speed, are among Urban Rose’s standards.

Require Qualifications

CFD certificate or AFID certificate

High school or diploma educational level.

Previous experience in a flower boutique, retail, or shop as a florist. Minimum of 1 year’s hands-on experience is required.

Crafting flower boutiques, customized flower gifts, and creating a gift box experience.

Knowledge about flowers, plants, and flower conditioning and maintenance techniques.

Customer service experience in retail.Cash handling, bill payments, and inventory knowledge.

Basic knowledge of Computer literacy.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, plus capability of working under pressure.

A Day at an Urban Rose

Basically, as an example of the urban routine on a day-to-day basis as a florist, every morning your first hour will be a rush one. It’s about to open the shop,p but before that, you will receive the flowers, plants, and other items from the supplier. Carefully receive them and perform the necessary cuttings, trimming, and conditioning. Before the shop starts, check if there are any emergency deliveries or orders that have to be prepared on the schedule plan, and then, after opening the shop, you will do customer service as well. Customers will arrive with specific requirements, and your duty is to recommend the best fit for their budget. In between,n you can upsell and recommend, which will help to provide a satisfying service to the customer.

In the middle of the day, you will have orders to prepare. Craft the boxes and designs, arrange the chocolate boxes, and fill them with assorted chocolates and sweets. Prepare customer online orders. Meanwhile, one of your responsibilities is to check the plants’ condition , change the water, and keep the workstation area clean. You will get customer calls and speak politely with them even during busy hours, to help them choose what to order. Typically, every week Urban Roses receives one big event order, so in the middle of the day or in the afternoon, you work with team members to complete the projects.

Depending on the situation, you might be assigned to assist the delivery driver in delivering the flowers to the specific location. Mostly, this happens when Urban Rose gets wedding orders. Help the driver load the items carefully and offload them at the location, and also assist the team members who are working for the event to finish up the work before the event or wedding starts. So these are the basic, day-to-day tasks that will be part of your position. This job is fun, entertaining, and challenging.
