Our successful baristas:

• Deliver a great service by building a genuine coffee lovers, guest relationships, anticipating preferences, and creating a memorable experience that encourages repeat visits by preparing a wide range of coffees, specialty coffees, espresso-based, signature drinks, and matcha beverages, ensuring the quality and presentation.
• Proactively promote our specialty items and capitalize on upselling signature beverages, pastries, and other menu offerings to ensure guest satisfaction and meet revenue goals. Always adhere to the food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards of the workstation to maintain quality and compliance.
• Maintain consistent standards in beverage quality, taste, presentation, and service, reflecting the luxury of the Southern Sun Hotel, and supporting each other and being proficient.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen staff, stewards, and other departments to ensure smooth operations, guest satisfaction, and support hotel events, promotions, and food and beverage activities.
• Adhere to food safety, HACCP guidelines, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations, while consistently ensuring the utmost quality.
• Operate, ensure the maintenance and calibration of coffee machines and accompanying equipment, and report any encountered maintenance issues immediately to the F&B manager.
• Watch over stock quantities and provide assistance with requisitions, inventory records, and other procedural duties necessary to enhance departmental effectiveness and adherence.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a barista, preferably within a star-class hotel, premium restaurant, or cafe environment, or UAE certified barista training certificate from a recognized institution, food and safety level 2 certificate that comes with strong knowledge of origin characteristics, brewing techniques, espresso-based preparations, smoothies, shakes, and well-sound knowledge of coffee equipment. A passion for coffee combined with exceptional customer service, delivered with a polished and professional personality and marked by meticulous attention to detail. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in additional languages is an asset. The candidate must be prepared to work on a rotational schedule during weekends and on public holidays.
