The Most Winning Interview Questions

“Prepare In Peace, Perform In Pressure”

In this article, Hire Me Gulfs proudly presents a list of frequently asked interview questions. Most people aren’t prepared for the questions, and once they get the interview seat, they get numb and stressed. But in this post, we are revealing, one by one, the most common questions that every hiring manager will ask.

Do you have your own visa or require a company visa?

The main reason they want to know the visa type is that visas cost money. According to the labor rules and company regulations, having a sponsor visa or a freelance visa is more profitable to the company than paying for an employment visa. So, that doesn’t mean you will get the job just because you have a freelance visa or a sponsor visa.

Own visa or sponsor visa holders – I’m currently on a spouse/freelance visa (depending on your current visa type), which allows me to work with an NOC (Non-Objection Letter) or without any visa preparation; I can join immediately.

Employment visa Expectations – I totally agree to work under the employment visa provided by the company.

What is your current salary expectation?

Here’s the tricky part. If you didn’t prepare for this, you have to accept a salary lower than you expect or reject it. You know your core values and skills, so here is the chance to demand them.

The most suitable answer for this question is like “my current company salary is (X) amount per month, which includes all allowances, accommodation/transportation, and medicals. After I researched the job market rate for this position with my (x) years of experience and skills, I’m looking for (Y) AED, a total package. But I am open to negotiating, depending on what your company provides.

Do you have a valid UAE Driving License?

The reason they ask depends on the position, and the area also matters in this question. Some areas, such as the metro-connected line, and if you didn’t drive, perhaps you can’t show up on time to work. That’s not the only reason; sometimes companies prefer a driving license during work hours, as employees have to travel to different places and cities. So having a driving license is an extra point.

If you have a driving license, better mention it with the grade; if you don’t have one, don’t hesitate to mention it.

During Ramadan, how do you handle work?

The reason they might ask is the different work schedule during the whole month of Ramadan. They might wanna see the interest in that and how you fit yourself during Ramadan.

If you’re non-Muslim, it doesn’t work effectively much, but if you’re Muslim, mention that you’re fasting like others and flexible for shift duties or split.

How do you communicate with workmates?

The winning answer for this is better; you say that you respect every culture and avoid sarcasm.

Are you comfortable with a 2-year contract?

This question is vital because most UAE companies are legally required to contract employees for 2 years, except for freelance visa holders. But we would like to mention something that has been a critical issue: after a candidate signs a 2-year contract and leaves the company within 3 months without completing the probation period.

Answer: I have read the labor regulations and rules, and I am fine with a 6-month probationary period, so I am totally willing to sign a 2-year employment contract.

Why did you want to join us?

Most of the candidates got rejected here because of the negative answers. Mentioning the previous company issues that reflect your character might have a bad effect on you. You might have had issues at work with a previous employer, but don’t reveal it. Instead, provide a positive and honest answer.

I’m about to finish my contract with my current employer. I love that work culture and gained skills there, yet I feel like I’m limited in expanding myself for more growth. So I decided to find another opportunity to grow.
